How Does Grace Chapel Focus on Community?

Focus on community is key at Grace Chapel. We believe that God is highly relational and that He calls us to be in community as disciples of Christ to minister to one another and the world.  Life Groups are small groups of people who enjoy meeting regularly to “do life together”, whether that consists of an in-depth bible study or just sharing a meal together once a week to discuss the sermon and share openly with one another.

Our vision for Life Groups is for each person to actively pursue one another, feel connected to and supported by the Grace Chapel family, spur one another on to greater works and a deeper understanding of God, and to passionately serve Christ while reaching the world.

Community Life & Life Group Vision

We live on purpose in authentic community, worshiping as we:

Connect with our church family
Grow to be like Christ
Serve in our church’s ministries
Reach the world

How Life Groups actively support the church’s’ mission.

Connect with our church family

We believe God created us to live in community with others and only then can we experience the full life He intends for us. (Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 4:15-16)

We believe life change happens in the context of relationships. Meaningful relationships can be hard to find, and Life Groups exist to make life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you and to those around you.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” ECCLESIASTES 4:9-12

Grow to be like Christ

It is our role in Life Groups to help each other grow spiritually and press one another on to greater spiritual maturity and holiness. (2 Corinthians 3:18, Hebrews 10:24)

In a world that celebrates individualism without accountability, we have seen that open and vulnerable relationships allow people to see that we are all broken & not alone in our sin. This allows us to come around one another in ongoing prayer, to lift one another up, and to have more meaningful relationships. (Galatians 6:1-2, James 5:16)
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16

Serve in our Church’s ministries

Serving the body of Christ is an important part of your walk with God.  God has given you unique gifts and abilities in order to further His kingdom and show His love to the people around you.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to be part of what God is doing in His church! (Matthew 25:40, Ephesians 2:10)
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

Reach the world

We believe the Church’s greatest mission is to reach the lost. Life Groups strive to equip themselves with the Word to gently, accurately, and humbly, share the person of Jesus Christ through their words and their actions. (1 Peter 3:15)
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-19
